NMG Europe R&D team is the foundation on top of which, since the beginning, the company has grown developing innovative and competitive products.

The R&D team involves more than 15% of the company work-force and is constituted by engineers and experts technicians with over than 20 years in polymer chemistry and engineering.
The R&D department is dedicated to:
– new formulations design and optimization
– quality control
– mechanical testing upon specific customers’ requirements
The laboratory is also equipped with a foaming pilot line allowing a very fast scale up in producing industrially new formulations.

The lab equipment and scientific instruments allow us to execute mechanical and physical tests as per DNV-GL rules and guidelines for sandwich core materials approval in maritime and wind turbine sectors.

Quality is guaranteed through systematic control on raw materials and then on every production batch, both in pre- and post-foaming.

TECHNICAL CUSTOMER SUPPORT

FOR PRODUCTS ADOPTION AND TESTING

We fully support our customers for foam selection and for problem-solving related to products compatibility and manufacturing issues. Moreover, being the laboratory validated for mechanical test on foams and sandwich panels by DNV-GL, we are also able to perform testing campaign upon request and provide our customers with all the data required for products approval.

CUSTOMIZATION

ON CURRENT FORMULATIONS ACCORDING TO SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND COMPOSITE SOLUTIONS DESIGN

Our R&D department, along with our sales team, is in constant relationship with our customers for whom we customize our formulations on demand in less than 3 months from the lab to the pilot scale, to the industrial production level.
In addition, we co-develop with our customers and partners improved solutions based on the design and engineering of innovative composite applications.

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

AND LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT STUDIES SUPPORT

Life Cycle Assessment is integrated in our R&D and manufacturing operations as tool of choice to measure, control and improve the environmental footprint of our products from raw materials selection to waste management, considering also downstream simulated processes. The experience gained in the field make us prompt to provide our customers with support in facing business challenges related to environmental aspects, with special regards to LCA studies.

KIT ENGINEERING

We offer our products in blocks, sheets or shaped in pre-cut parts according to customer’s design requirements. We also provide our customers with complete engineered kit solution starting from customer’s drawings to improve efficiency and reduce waste in manufacturing.
